Emily Foster Hill

As a FIELD Edventures Consultant in the Madison, WI, area, Emily (she/her/hers) facilitates local and regional partners in equitably taking education outdoors, with a focus on supporting early childhood educators in integrating inquiry-based, place-based education into their curricula. Throughout her coaching, Emily strives to provide a welcoming environment, and authentically support each participant. Emily earned her B.A. in Psychology and Environmental Studies from UW-Madison. Upon developing and piloting an original series of family-based, outdoor programs ("Leave No Family Inside"), Emily earned her M.S. in Natural Resources (Environmental Education and Interpretation) from UW-Stevens Point. Emily has worked as a Naturalist, Summer Camp Manager, Inquiry-Based Curriculum and Instruction Manager, and co-taught in a Nature Explore Classroom preschool. After earning an American Montessori Society Early Childhood Credential, Emily co-developed a private Erdkinder Montessori IB Middle School, and led a public K3-K5 Montessori classroom while earning a WI DPI (EC-MC) Teacher License. As an elected member of the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education's Board of Directors, Emily chairs WAEE's JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Committee and Recognitions Committee.
