Are your pre-service candidates ready to teach environmental education?

Teachers with licenses in early childhood regular education, elementary and middle school regular education, science, and social studies must demonstrate knowledge and understanding in environmental education including the conservation of natural resources. |LS|PI 34.022(2)|RS|

Register for this one-day workshop to engage in hands-on activities, explore resources that embody best practices in environmental education to use in your courses, and connect with fellow teacher educators from across the state!

Hosts

This workshop is hosted by the Teacher Educator Network for Environmental Education (TENFEE) planning team, part of the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education, and in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction

Teacher Educators Network for Environmental Education (TENFEE): Serves as a communication hub for environmental education in teacher education programs, advocates for teacher education program inclusion of EE, and Is an umbrella for research in higher education.

Participants of the workshop will receive educator certification in Project WET’s Climate, Water, and Resilience and Project WILD’s Climate and Wildlife guides to use activities in the classroom. Project WET and Project WILD use a “Train the Trainer” model. If you have completed the Project WET and Project WILD educator certification and want to train your pre-service educators to use these materials, stay for the optional facilitator training from 2:30 - 4:00. If you have not attended a Project WET and Project WILD educator workshop, there is an opportunity on August 4-5 in Oshkosh to meet this prerequisite. Ask for details,
