  • These in-person professional learning sessions will be offered at no cost to K-12 formal and non-formal educators.
  • The goal of this two-session workshop is to increase Great Lakes environmental literacy among educators and students in Wisconsin, particularly those living and learning in the Great Lakes Basin.
  • Using Project WET (Water Education and Training) curriculum materials, the natural and cultural systems of the Great Lakes will be explored as participants learn about the causes and impacts of marine debris in these freshwater treasures.

During the workshop sessions, participants will:

  • Become familiar with the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide;
  • Participate in a variety of activities from the guide and learn how to implement these activities with students;
  • Learn about a collection of educational resources from Wisconsin Sea Grant including the Adopt-A-Beach activity and the NOAA marine debris tracker app. These resources and tools complement the activities presented in the Project WET Guide; and
  • Tour Wequiock Children’s Center for Environmental Sciences campus for inspiration on student-led stewardship projects to improve environmental and human health in the Lake Michigan watershed.

Register by April 19, 2023. The workshop is offered at no cost to participants and includes the Project WET Curriculum Guide. Visit https://forms.gle/WWMdncLLR7c6NrN16 for registration and additional details.
